About Us

The Matt Feriozzi Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in response to a profound loss and a commitment to ensuring LGBTQIA+ individuals have access to affirming, life-saving mental health care.

Matt Feriozzi was unapologetically queer and deeply committed to living authentically. He was known for his warmth, humor, and presence in his community, even as he navigated significant mental health challenges and struggles with addiction. After Matt’s death in 2016, it became clear that his experience was not isolated, but reflective of broader barriers to accessible and affirming care within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The foundation exists to transform grief into action. Through fundraising and community collaboration, we work to reduce barriers to care by supporting therapy stipends, investing in community resources, and advancing education centered on LGBTQIA+ lived experience.

At its core, the foundation honors Matt by turning remembrance into impact, supporting a future where people can live authentically and access mental health care without facing their struggles alone.
